Malki Kawa has fired back at Ali Abdelaziz over his assessment of
Ilia
Topuria.
Abdelaziz recently suggested that Usman Nurmagomedov, who is currently a free agent, would force Topuria to quit if the two were to fight. The comments came after Nurmagomedov defended his Professional Fighters League title against Archie Colgan and are clearly a dig at Topuria’s loss to Justin Gaethje at UFC Freedom 250.
Nurmagomedov extended his perfect record to 22-0 with his first-round knockout victory at PFL New York. Abdelaziz subsequently claimed that the unbeaten Russian would beat Topuria during his appearance on the “Pound 4 Pound” podcast. Kawa responded by claiming that Topuria could “annihilate” Abdelaziz’s entire roster.
“You've got this guy, he's sitting there with two of his clients, and one of them happens to be Usman,” Kawa said in a social media post. “They're sitting there talking about his next opponent: ‘Oh yeah, he would beat this guy, he would beat that guy,’ and, ‘He will do this and he will do that.’ Guy, shut the f*ck up. Ilia Topuria would f**king annihilate 100% of your roster, including if he fought Gaethje again.”
Kawa then reiterated that Topuria would beat Gaethje in a rematch.
“He would f**king beat the sh*t out of him,” he added. “We all know that Ilia was better. He had a bad night. Your boy did good. Congratulations. Stop hyping up the other sh*t. You sound like a f**king clown. Ilia Topuria is still, in my book, the No. 1 fighter in the world.”
Topuria suffered his first career loss to Gaethje at the historic White House event, but Kawa believes the Georgian-Spaniard will bounce back with a “masterclass” performance.
“When the comeback happens, you will see what happens,” Kawa concluded. “Paddy Pimblett, Islam Makhachev, Usman Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. When you guys see it, you'll witness a masterclass.”
