Lexi Thompson expecting baby girl in February, plans to play in WTGL

LPGA star Lexi Thompson announced Tuesday that she's expecting her first child in February 2027.
Thompson, who married Max Provost in March at La Casa Toscana, a private Tuscan estate in Fort Myers, is expecting a girl.

The Delray Beach resident posted a photo of her and her husband on Instagram holding a sonogram of the baby in her womb with a message that read in part: "The best chapter of our lives is just beginning and we are so blessed and grateful. Baby girl, we already love you more than you’ll ever know."
While she has been competing part-time on the LPGA Tour, Thompson also was among the first wave of players to commit to the WTGL. The first-year league begins play at SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens in November - when Thompson will be 6 months pregnant.
A source with knowledge of WTGL's plans confirmed that Thompson still expects to compete in Year 1 of the WTGL.
When the new league was announced in January, TMRW Sports CEO Mike McCarley, whose organization oversees TGL and WTGL, said, “WTGL will be a global stage to showcase LPGA Tour stars, and this first wave of committed players represents that opportunity with some of the world’s best."
Thompson, an 11-time winner of the LPGA Tour, certainly will be one of the more popular players in WTGL.
She has struggled in 2026, however, pulling out of a tournament in June with a hip injury. She has missed the last three majors, but she is in the field for this week's The Standard Portland Classic. It is not known whether she will be a member of the U.S. Solheim Cup team for next month's competition, likely needing U.S. captain Angela Stanford to use one of her picks on Thompson.
