The Boston Red Sox have dealt with multiple injuries throughout the season, which has been part of why they struggled to start the year.

Had the Red Sox been healthy throughout the entire campaign, one could strongly argue that they have one of the best rosters in baseball.

It feels like a lot of people have forgotten that the Red Sox have been without Roman Anthony, Garrett Crochet, Trevor Story, and others throughout the campaign.

Regarding potential returns of Story and Crochet, getting both players back before October would go a long way.

Even if Crochet can only throw out of the bullpen, that's better than not using him at all. According to skipper Chad Tracy, the Red Sox are in a good spot to get both of these guys back sometime in the near future. Crochet apparently still has a long way to go, but Story is starting to ramp up his recovery a bit.

"Crochet was back to throwing," Tracy said while giving injury updates for the club, per SI’s Patrick McAvoy. "Trevor was able to ramp up the intensity a little more after a regen day. So, Crochet a ways to go. Trevor creeping closer also."

The last thing the Red Sox want to do here is have either of these guys get even more hurt than they already are in a rehab assignment. Boston has done a good job of shutting guys down when needed, and the focus should be on continuing that with Crochet in particular.

However, with the Red Sox now having a chance to win a World Series, it wouldn't be that surprising to see Crochet come back even if he isn't 100%.
