‘Nobody Is Trying To Sabotage Your Guy’ — Browns Analyst Unleashes Wrath on Shedeur Sanders’ Fans’ Conspiracy Theories

Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders is still engaged in one of the league’s fiercest QB1 battles with Deshaun Watson.

Sanders and Watson have split first-team reps during the Browns’ training camp, but the veteran started their first preseason game against the Chicago Bears last Saturday.

Analyst Dismisses Shedeur Sanders Conspiracy Theories

Sanders played in the third quarter of the preseason game against the Bears last Saturday, completing 6 of 11 attempts for 79 yards and 1 interception. Watson and Sanders will continue to split first-team reps, and the former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback will start the Browns’ second preseason game against the Buffalo Bills this Saturday.

Sanders might be without the Browns’ starting offense against the Bills because of an agreement between coach Todd Monken and Joe Brady to hold out the starters should they get enough reps during the teams’ joint practice this week.

During Wednesday’s segment of “The Ken Carman Show With Anthony Lima,” analyst Ken Carman blasted Sanders’ fans for their conspiracy theories about the quarterback being sabotaged by the Browns.

“I understand how I’m coming off to people who don’t want to believe the truth or who don’t know the game,” Carman said. “There’s plenty of people who watch football and then don’t know what’s going on. You can be a fan, but you have to understand; nobody is trying to sabotage your guy.

“You can make up as many convenient excuses as you want to; it’s still not gonna change the truth. I still get it on social media, and I go, ‘Mute.’ I see all the replies on Shedeur, you’re a person who can’t be helped, goodbye. I can’t do it any longer.”

Carman further broke down why Watson will probably win the Browns’ QB1 battle over Sanders.

“I don’t want Deshaun Watson to play either, but have I not been willing to accept the truth of the matter? One guy has nine years of experience; the other guy has two,” Carman explained. “One guy has played in multiple offenses. The other guy has played in one that was set up for him. That’s all that’s been. So, if one guy is able to get a little bit quicker, it’s to be expected.”

Sanders ended his rookie NFL season as the Browns’ starter after climbing the depth chart and usurping Dillon Gabriel.

Unfortunately, he earned the second-worst PFN QB Impact score of 63.0 last season after tallying 1,400 passing yards on 56.6% completion, 7 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. He led the Browns to a 3-4 record as a starter.

On the other hand, since signing a five-year, fully guaranteed $230 million contract in 2022, Watson has only played 19 games for the Browns (9-10) amid a litany of injuries and off-field issues.
