The debate around whether or not trans athletes should be allowed to play in the WNBA is one of the biggest talking points in sport right now.
It began when Sophie Cunningham spoke about protecting young girls from ‘biological males’, with said comments creating a lot of mixed reactions.

Those who fall more into Cunningham’s camp have been showing their support for the Indiana Fever star in recent weeks, including protesting at recent games and wearing the XX-XY shirts.
But some WNBA fans were told to cover up XX-XY clothing during the Fever’s meeting with the Atlanta Dream, which again sparked more controversy online.

In response to security telling those fans to cover up, the WNBA released a statement on the incident and said ‘This should not have happened’.
Now, a video of one WNBA security guard commenting on the XX-XY shirts has been shared on X/Twitter.
Ahead of the recent Valkyries vs Lynx clash, two fans are shown speaking to the security, who makes it clear to them that their XX-XY shirts are not offensive.
Jackson Thompson explained: “Security at the Valkyries-Lynx game did not allow protesters to bring their signs into the Chase Center, but did allow them to wear their XX-XY Athletics shirts freely.”
In the video itself, the security guard can be heard saying: “The chromosome shirts are not offensive.”
