Ken Betwa Oustees To Be Resurveyed Over Relief, Rehabilitation Gaps

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A review meeting held over the Ken-Betwa project by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav in Khajuraho on Friday caused panic among the officials of the Panna and Chhatarpur district administration.

Yadav said the government would assess the compensation provided to those who lost their lands after the land acquisition for the project.

According to Yadav, the government will survey to see whether the relief has reached the eligible people or not.

The Prime Minister's Office took feedback from the state government about the agitation launched by the displaced people.

Yadav directed the officials of the Panna and Chhatarpur administration to solve the problems of the project-affected people by interacting with them.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has already met the affected people of the Ken-Betwa project.

Rahul Gandhi said he would meet the affected people in Chhatarpur. Rahul's meeting with these people may stir up a fresh controversy, so the government wants to solve their problems.

The feedback that Yadav has received from the public representatives indicates that resentment prevails among the affected people. They also informed Yadav about the shortcomings in the distribution of relief and rehabilitation of oustees.

Afterwards, Yadav directed the officials to conduct a survey again and submit a report.
