New UCLA coach Bob Chesney is focused on getting his Bruins back to contention but commented that the state of college football has morphed into something resembling another sport.

Chesney made the comparison after he reunited with linebacker Trent Hendrick, who Chesney is very familiar with from their days together at James Madison. Hendrick chased his NFL dreams this spring and summer, but has returned to college football after he was granted a fifth year of eligibility.
