The Springboks travelled from Cape Town back to their training base in Johannesburg on Sunday morning to resume their preparations for this Saturday’s third Test against the All Blacks.

After picking up a much-needed victory this past weekend, the Springboks are now looking forward to the prospect of playing in front of a crowd of more than 80,000 at the FNB Stadium, 

This Saturday’s match will kick off at 17:10, and will be broadcast live on SuperSport. Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that coach Rassie Erasmus will make his team announcement on Monday at 11:30.

“I think it’s going to be massive and we hope it will be sold out,” Springbok prop Ox Nche commented. “It’s going to be a huge occasion, and a challenge for both teams, and we’re looking forward to it.”

Lots to work on for Springboks before kick off

Despite a 33-26 victory over New Zealand to level the series 1-1 in Cape Town, Erasmus warned that the Springboks would have to improve for the third Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry Test.

“New Zealand are a brilliant team and there are definitely things we must fix,” said Erasmus.

“I don’t want to be technical about the edge defence, but they have really smart players, and they are two classes up from what they were last year.

“The one thing we immediately agreed in the changing room is that this is a really good New Zealand team. This week we did a lot of things much better, and I can tell you now that this is not the same New Zealand team we played last year.

“They attacked with width, they got offloads away, they’re really well coached and they’ve got athletes who can beat you on a dime. A couple of more phases at the end and it could have been a draw.”
