Dimarco targeted by Barcelona after Inter stall new contract talks

Barcelona are targeting Federico Dimarco for next season, claim reports in Spain, after his Serie A Player of the Season award and delayed Inter contract.
The 28-year-old Italy international rediscovered his consistency last term under new coach Cristian Chivu, contributing eight goals and 18 assists in 47 competitive games.

It earned him the Serie A Player of the Season award this week, and confirmed his status as one of the key players in that squad.

According to Spanish paper Sport, Barcelona have set their sights on Dimarco and he could be open to a possible move next summer.
It is true that his current contract with Inter only runs to June 2027, but there is an option to extend by another year already included.
He is also a lifelong supporter of the Nerazzurri, so it would take something spectacular to tempt him away from San Siro.

“I am pleased to be linked with these big clubs, but you know my story with Inter, I grew up here,” Dimarco told Sky Sport Italia.
“With regards to my contract renewal, we haven’t talked about it yet. I hoped it would happen, seeing how last season ended, but there will be time to speak soon.”

Barcelona had already made approaches this summer for Inter stars Lautaro Martinez and Alessandro Bastoni, so are clearly keeping a close eye on the squad and their progress.
