SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — Miles takes on Christoval on Friday, Sept 4 to kick off week two of the 2026 high school football season.

The Miles Bulldogs spoiled the Christoval Cougars' homecoming party on Friday night. Miles quickly scored a touchdown in the first quarter to lead 7-0. On their next possession, senior quarterback Liam Yancy tossed a dime to wide receiver Jaxton Bogs in the corner of the end zone, giving the Bulldogs a 13-0 lead.
On Christoval's ensuing drive, a crazy sequence began. Cougars junior quarterback Ty Debusk scrambled to his right, trying to gain extra yardage but the Bulldogs' defense had other plans. Miles' Kaden Karmany punched the ball loose from Debusk's hands, causing a fumble, recovered by Cooper Smith for another touchdown to put Miles ahead 19-0.
On the very next play, more chaos ensued. The Bulldogs attempted a two-point conversion, but Yancy was intercepted by Christoval's Jett Whitlow, who ran it all the way back for a pick-two, trimming the deficit to 19-2.
Miles never looked back, holding its lead en route to a 27-15 win to even its record to 1-1 on the season. Christoval falls to 1-1.
Miles hosts its homecoming in week three versus Reagan County while Christoval visits McCamey. Both games kick off at 7 p.m. CST.
