Vanderbilt soccer ranked No. 1 in national poll for first time

Vanderbilt soccer was ranked No. 1 in the latest TopDrawerSoccer Poll, the first time in program history that the Commodores have been atop the poll, the program announced Sept. 8.
Vanderbilt (7-0) has won its six games by a total score of 28-7.

The Commodores are led by Sydney Watts, who has already scored eight goals and four assists. Watts was the 2025 SEC Forward of the Year.
Reagan Pentz has three goals and four assists, while Melania Fullerton has three goals and three assists.
Under coach Darren Ambrose, Vanderbilt made it to the Elite Eight last season for the first time in program history. The Commodores won the SEC tournament and earned a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament.
Vanderbilt begins SEC play on the road against Georgia on Sept. 10 (6 p.m. CT, SEC Network).
The Commodores were picked to win the SEC in the league's preseason poll. It would be Vanderbilt's first regular-season SEC title since 2018.
