Josh Jacobs remains on Commissioner’s Exempt list while NFL reviews his case

Packers running back Josh Jacobs pleaded no contest to misdemeanor battery and criminal damage to property to resolve the criminal charges he was facing, but the NFL's disciplinary process has not resolved the case.
The league has confirmed that its review of Jacobs' conduct, which could potentially result in a suspension, is ongoing.

"We have been closely monitoring all developments in the matter which remains under review of the personal conduct policy. There is no change to his status as he remains on the Commissioner’s Exempt list," the league's statement said.
As long as Jacobs is on the exempt list, he cannot practice or play but does get paid. If he is suspended, the suspension will be without pay.
Jacobs' decision to resolve the criminal case today would seem to be an effort to get the NFL's case against him over with as soon as possible, so that he can return to the field this season. The league, however, is sometimes slower than the legal system to reach a conclusion about whether a player has committed misconduct that should result in a suspension.
The victim in Jacobs' case was his then-girlfriend. A six-game suspension is the standard punishment for a domestic violence case in the NFL, although the actual suspension could be shorter or longer depending on the facts the NFL's investigation uncovers.
