Vincent Kompany evaluates Bayern Munich after Champions League victory

The Bavarians welcomed back Jamal Musiala to the XI, enjoyed a dominant performance (and cool postgame interview) from Michael Olise, and rode a wave of second-half energy en route to a 5-0 Champions League smashing of Bodø/Glimt — who showed last season that it is a side not to be underestimated.
After a stumble at the weekend against Schalke — a scoreless 0-0 draw — it looks like Bayern is rounding into form.
“We’re in a good position,” said Bayern coach Vincent Kompany after the match, on where the team stands after its opening five matches (captured via @iMiaSanMia). “We still have players getting back to their rhythm. The counter-pressing, the pressing, the energy are positive.
“There’s still room for improvement regarding quality and details, we’re working on that. A top fit Jamal is a bonus compared to last season, where we played for most of the season without him. Alphonso Davies is getting back in rhythm as well. But as always, every game has its story. We’ll see what happens in the next games.”
Bayern’s season continues on Sunday on the road at SV Elversberg, a surprise story of the early Bundesliga season having won both its opening contests. Then it’s at home versus Union Berlin the following Friday, the last match before an international period that stretches into October.
