PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD/WYZZ) -- Morton found a way to beat Washington in football for the first time in a long time.
Keena Smith returned the opening kick 79 yards for a touchdown and added a 50-yard TD run in the second half as Morton beat Washington 56-30 at Babcook Field on Friday. The Potters snap Washington's 27-game Mid-Illini Conference winning streak and beat the Panthers for the first time in 12 years.

Sage Lelm and Brody Watson took interceptions back for scores in the second half for Morton.
