‘People think I’m bringing everyone from Marumo Gallants to Pirates’: Ouaddou

Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has rubbished claims that he only signs players from his former team Marumo Gallants.
This comes after the Buccaneers signed Bheki Mabuza from Gallants last week.

In the past 14 months, Pirates have signed four players from Gallants and some fans feel the Moroccan coach is trying to bring his former players to Mayfair.
“It’s good that you ask me this question about Mabuza because sometimes people think I’m bringing everyone from Marumo here,” Ouaddou told the media.
“But you know that what is important is people must understand that this is one of the biggest clubs in Africa, with a scouting department that brings people based on their identity and how we want to play in the club.
“I’m not the one who brings people here, so people must stop thinking that the coach is bringing all the Marumo Gallants people here,” he said.
Ouaddou explains Pirates new signing
The Buccanners new signing Mabuza made 35 appearances last season while contributing three goals and an assist. He will add depth to the Bucs midfield which is already stacked.
Pirates host Durban City in their next match on Thursday at the Orlando Amstel Arena. A win for them will close the gap from Mamelodi Sundowns, who have played two more matches.
Ouaddou has already won three trophies with Pirates since taking over last season. He could add to another trophy should the Sea Robbers beat Sundowns next month in the MTN8 final.
