Louisville football ACC opponents set for 9-game schedule in 2027

· Yahoo Sports

Louisville football will have Clemson and Miami back on its schedule in 2027, the ACC announced Wednesday, Sept. 16, while also revealing every league team except Clemson will play nine conference games next season.

This season, Louisville is one of 12 ACC teams playing a nine-game league schedule; the remaining five are playing eight conference games. In future years, 16 teams will play nine ACC games and one will play eight due to the conference's odd number of members. Clemson gets a reprieve in 2027 because the Tigers still are playing the mandatory 10 games against Power Four competition, with nonconference dates against South Carolina and Notre Dame.

Next season, Clemson is one of four conference teams visiting Louisville. The Cards also play host to North Carolina, Syracuse and Virginia Tech at L&N Stadium.

Louisville's road slate includes a trip to Hard Rock Stadium to play the Hurricanes after recording the program's first two road wins against "The U" in 2023 and 2025. The Cards' 38-31 road win over Miami stamped their ticket to their first ACC championship game, and last year's 24-21 win gave the program its first top-five victory since beating No. 2-ranked Florida State, 63-20, in 2016 and its first top-five road win since taking a 28-24 victory at Cincinnati in 2007.

Louisville will also play California, Duke, Florida State and Virginia on the road next season.

UofL opens ACC play for the 2026 campaign Saturday, Sept. 19, when it plays host to No. 16 SMU.
