Outspoken soccer anaylyst Junior Khanye says Fernando Da Cruz is not a good fit for Kaizer Chiefs.

The French coach was appointed Amakhosi‘s head coach in July, replacing Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze.

So far, Da Cruz has had three league victories and three draws in his opening six fixtures.

Khanye, however, feels the coach is too defensive and lack belief.

“When it comes to Chiefs, I still have question marks about bringing in that coach. To me, he is a coach who is more concerned about not conceding, hence his team is always defending. Even if it means putting five defenders in his line-up, he will do it as long as he believes it is the right strategy to get him the result he wants,” said the ex-Chiefs winger.

Against Polokwane City, Amakhosi dropped two points and Khanye feels Da Cruz was too blame.

“Just look at the most recent match against Polokwane City. His team was too defensive, and they were almost caught by surprise because, in my opinion, Polokwane were the more attacking team,” he said as per Soccer Laduma.

“For me, the coach is not good enough. I don’t think there is any trophy that he is going to win for Kaizer Chiefs,” he added.

Fernando Da Cruz has implemented a solid midfield

Despite dropping points in the last few matches, Amakhosi fans have praised Da Cruz’s defensive structure which has won them games. The likes of Lebohang Maboe, Sphesihle Ndlovu and Sibongiseni Mthethwa have impressed as a midfield trio, dominating most games this season.
