Jared Young injury update: Mets first baseman carted off after scary collision

· Yahoo Sports

New York Mets first baseman Jared Young was carted off the field in the top of the sixth inning after a collision with his pitcher. Young lifted his arm and gave the crowd a thumbs-up as the cart went through the outfield. Nolan McLean inadvertently kneed Young in the head as he chased a groundball to first base.

Young laid in the infield dirt for several minutes as his teammates gathered around him and the Phillies waited quietly in their dugout. Young was attended to by interim manager Andy Green and the Mets training staff for several minutes before being carted off. He was conscious and moving as he was carried off.
