Tamaqua boys golfer Sam Vinc and Our Lady of Lourdes Regional’s Vivian Reiprisch both won their second-straight Schuylkill League individual golf championships on Monday at Schuylkill County Club in Orwigsburg.

Vinc finishes with par, claims second-straight title
Vinc started his day with a bogey on hole one but rebounded well with an immediate par on hole two and a bridie on hole three to get back to even par. Entering hole nine, Vinc found himself 1-under par with a 31 but double-bogeyed the ninth hole to finish the front nine at 1-over.
After having two bogeys and a double-bogey in the front nine, Vinc had a much smoother back nine, making par on each of the first four holes before getting his lone birdie of the back nine on hole 14, a par five hole. He finished the round with four straight pars to finish with an even par, 72. He notably finished last year’s individual championships with the same score.
Schuylkill Haven’s Alan Evans and Eli Barton rounded out the top three at 3-over (75) and 6-over (78) par respectively.
Evans, like Vinc, finished the front nine at 1-over par but was unable to keep up with Tamaqua, standout on the back nine with three bogeys including on hole 15 and 18. This is the second straight year Evans finished second in the Schuylkill League Championships, last year he finished with a 74.
Rounding out the top five for the boys was Blue Mountain’s Dylan Knittle and Minersville’s Garrett Sukeena, both at 10-over par (82).

Reiprish retains her crown
Vivian Reiprisch for the second consecutive year is the Schuylkill League Girls Individual champion. Reiprish finished her day with a score of 83, which is 11-over par. She finished three strokes ahead of Minersville’s Emma Tourtman at 14-over par (86). Schuylkill Haven’s Giuliana Hughes finished in third at +16 (88), and Panther Valley’s Callie Kosiolek finished 39-over (111).
Reiprish had two birdies on the day while also finishing with eight pars, helping offset three early bogeys and five double bogeys, four of which came in the back nine. Her most impressive hole of the day, she saved for last. After suffering three double-bogeys on holes 15 through 17, Reiprish dug deep and earned a birdie on hole 18.
Notably, Reiprish’s final score of 83, is three strokes better than her final score of 86 last season. Emma Troutman and Giulana Hughes also improved their scores from a year ago, Troutman improving her score by a stroke going from 87 to 86 while Hughes improved her score by nine strikes, finishing with a 97 a year ago.
