The question we were asking NUFC fans on Sunday was: How would you rate this Newcastle United start to the 2026/27 season?

Now an international break lasting three weeks, with United not in action again until Monday 12 October and a trip to Coventry City in the Premier League.
So how do you think Newcastle United and Matthias Jaissle have done?
We just wanted to get a snapshot of opinion, how fans think things have gone.
That is reflecting back on the position Matthias Jaissle found himself in when taking over on 5 August 2026, only 18 days before the season kicked off. Everything that went on this summer and the issues the new NUFC Head Coach faced.
How do Newcastle United fans think things have gone compared to how you felt and the situation that existed on Sunday 23 August before the season kicked off against Liverpool?

Newcastle United head into this international break ninth in the Premier League on eight points from five games, plus into the last 16 of the Carabao Cup.
So we asked Newcastle United fans to give us their approval rating out of 10 on how they think things have gone so far, compared to the situation Matthias Jaissle faced as the season kicked off.

Always interesting when seeing the results of these polls when we pose questions to the NUFC fanbase.
I personally voted 9 out of 10, I think Matthias Jaissle has done unbelievably well with this start to the season.
I am surprised that as many as 12% of fans only rated this start as a 6 out of 10, whilst I find it astonishing that 4% of supporters who voted went as low as 5 out of 10.
As always with opinions though, no reason why everybody should think the same.
