INGLEWOOD, Calif. − The worst case scenario for the Giants unfolded on the opening drive Monday night.
Quarterback Jaxson Dart was hit from both sides on a third-down throw deep to Theo Johnson, and he stayed down on the ground after the play.

Teammates gathered around Dart and he was checked out by the medical staff.
How did Jaxson Dart get injured?
Dart took a knee-to-knee hit from Rams outside linebacker Josaiah Stewart.
Dart limped off the field and into the medical tent. Johnson dropped what would have been a first-down pass and the Giants had to punt.
Giants backup quarterback Jameis Winston entered the game for Dart.

Dart left the field and walked to the locker room. The Giants said his return is listed as questionable.
