Nets sign Nick Pringle, waive DJ Rodman, Aaron Scott before camp
· Yahoo Sports
The Brooklyn Nets are one week away from training camp in preparation for the 2026-27 season beginning as the team seeks to have a better season than it did last year. Brooklyn made a variety of moves this offseason to put themselves in a better spot to win more games, but as camp approaches, the Nets are still making transactions with other implications.

On Monday, the Nets announced that they made various moves, such as them signing and then waiving DJ Rodman and Aaron Scott while also signing forward Nick Pringle. With Brooklyn having a full roster (15 standard contracts, 3 Two-Way contracts) at this point in the season, these moves are likely made with the goal of getting these players within the system of the Long Island Nets, Brooklyn's G League afiliate.
Pringle, 25, recently signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the Nets, meaning that he would get a chance to compete for a roster spot in training camp. However, it's possible that this recent signing could change that. Pringle is coming off a 2025-26 season with the Arkansas Razorbacks in which he averaged 4.6 points and 3.9 rebounds while shooting 72.9% from the field.
Rodman, 25, spent the 2025-26 campaign in the G League with the Greensboro Swarm, the G League team for the Charlotte Hornets. In his time with the Swarm, Rodman averaged 7.2 points and 3.2 rebounds per game while shooting 50.5% from the floor and 46.5% from deep. Rodman went undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft after a five-year college career that spanned from Washington State and USC.
Scott, 23, spent the 2025-26 season with the Maine Celtics, the G League affiliate of the Boston Celtics, where he averaged 6.7 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game while shooting 45.6% from the field and 35.4% from three-point land. Scott also played for the Nets' summer league team this offseason and averaged 7.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game.
In a series of transactions made earlier today, the Nets signed and subsequently requested waivers on DJ Rodman and Aaron Scott.
