Germany’s Jürgen Klopp provides injury update on Jamal Musiala, Kai Havertz

Jürgen Klopp’s debut as the German national team manager was full of disappointment. During warmups, Jamal Musiala tweaked his thigh and was held out of the match as a precaution. Thirty minutes into the first half, Kai Havertz picked up a knock and had to be replaced. Despite being outplayed for most of the match, Klopp’s side squeaked out a draw that was almost a clean sheet win, until Cody Gakpo’s stoppage time goal.
In the postgame interview (via @iMiaSanMia), Klopp offered a brief procedural note on the injured players.

“Both will undergo MRI scans tonight and then we’ll have the diagnoses,” said Klopp. “They’re probably out for us, but I hope they’ll be back soon [for their clubs].”
Both players will likely be sent back to their clubs to rehab for the rest of the international break. Given the physical nature of the Netherlands match, Musiala’s health situation might have been improved by avoiding the game altogether.
