Stephen Curry recently signed a contract extension with the Golden State Warriors, meaning he is becoming the first player in NBA history to surpass $600m in on-court earnings.
The extension was confirmed by the Warriors late on Friday, with the NBA outfit stating via X: “The Golden State Warriors have signed four-time NBA champion and two-time NBA Most Valuable Player Stephen Curry to a contract extension.”

Curry’s new deal will keep him with the Warriors until 2029 and includes a player option for 2028/29.
It has been reported that the extension is worth $116m, meaning that, as shared by Bobby Marks, the 38-year-old is surpassing all competitors in the NBA all-time on-court earnings list.

Taking to X/Twitter, Marks explained: “With the extension, Stephen Curry becomes the first player with $600M+ in on-court earnings in NBA history.”
His tweet included an image of the all-time top earners in the NBA, which shows Curry overtaking the likes of LeBron James (now third) and Kevin Durant (now second).
The Warriors will now be looking ahead to the 2026/27 campaign as they aim to build on what was a fairly disappointing 2025/26.
They return to preseason action on October 4 with a meeting against the LA Clippers.
The Warriors then clash with the Sacramento Kings in their opening game of the 2026/27 regular season.
