Here are the 2026 IHSAA soccer sectional draws for Bloomington area teams

The IHSAA has unveiled the path to Carroll Stadium in Indianapolis, site of the boys and girls state soccer championships.

Below are the pairings for the area's five sectionals, three boys, two girls, with play beginning on Oct. 5 for girls and Oct. 6 for boys. Winners of even-numbered sectionals will play host to regional semifinals this year. Sites for area regional finals in both boys and girls are Seymour (3A), Speedway (2A) and Forest Park (1A).
Here are how the newly reshuffled sectionals line up.
Boys draws
Class 3A Sectional 14 at Bloomington North
The Bloomington schools find themselves on opposite sides of the bracket.
North (10-4) gets the tourney opener on its new field against Terre Haute North (6-8-1). They did not meet this year. The winner gets struggling Terre Haute South (1-13), whose only win is against West Vigo.
In the bottom bracket, No. 2 Bloomington South (10-1-2) opens against sectional newcomer Bedford North Lawrence (5-9), a team the Panthers beat 6-0 on Aug. 25. Up next would be either Mooresville (10-2-2) or Martinsville (5-6-3). The Pioneers won their Mid-State game 2-0 on Aug. 20 and are on a five-game win streak heading into a match with BNL this Tuesday.
ADVANCEMENT: Winner plays host to East Central Sectional champion on Oct. 15.
Class 2A Sectional 28 at Edgewood
Edgewood (3-8) gets the toughest possible draw in a field with just two teams with winning records in No. 17 Greencastle (12-1), which just took its first loss of the season in conference on PKs. The Tiger Cubs beat the Mustangs 4-2 on Sept. 24. The other top bracket opener has West Vigo (6-8-1) vs. Brown County (1-8-1).
On the bottom bracket, Owen Valley (3-9-2) drew Northview (7-4), which will be played on a quick turnaround after their WIC match on Oct. 1. Sullivan (4-10) gets South Vermillion (0-7), matchup the Arrows won 7-1 on Sept. 3.
ADVANCEMENT: Winner plays host to Danville Sectional champion on Oct. 15.
Class 1A Sectional 45 at Mitchell
Seven Oaks (5-2-1) gets Eastern Greene (5-8) in its first ever IHSAA sectional draw. The Firehawks beat the T-Birds 5-1 on Sept. 1, but Eastern is hoping to get healthy for the rematch. The winner gets Bloomfield (3-7-2), a team Seven Oaks plays this Monday.
Tough bottom bracket semi awaits as Lighthouse Christian (10-3-1) plays Mitchell (1-11-1) while favored No. 12 White River Valley (9-4), the defending champ, gets Shoals (7-4-3). The Lions beat the Jackets 9-0 on Sept. 4, tied with Shoals and lost 4-0 to the Wolverines.
ADVANCEMENT: Winner plays at Northeast Dubois Sectional champion on Oct. 15.
Girls draws
Class 3A Sectional 14 at Mooresville
Bloomington North (6-8) will play Terre Haute North (5-6-2) in opener, hoping to reverse a 2-0 loss to the Patriots on Sept. 5 and get their first playoff win since 2022. The winner gets the host Pioneers (3-8-2), a team the Cougars beat 2-0 on Sept. 9.
In the bottom bracket, Bloomington South (6-5-3) gets Martinsville (3-12) in a quick turnaround right after they play this Tuesday, while Bedford North Lawrence (8-4-1) has Terre Haute South (1-13).
ADVANCEMENT: Winner plays host to the Whiteland Sectional champion on Oct. 14.
Class 2A Sectional 28 at Northview
Edgewood (6-4), in search of its first ever sectional title, opens with West Vigo (6-6), a conference foe the Mustangs will play on Wednesday in a quick turnaround rematch. Winner moves to the final.
Owen Valley (2-6) and favored Sullivan (10-0-3) go head-to-head in the opener. The Arrows outscored the four WIC foes here 15-1, including a 7-0 win over the Patriots and 3-0 over Edgewood. Winner gets the host Knights (3-11) in the semis.
ADVANCEMENT: Winner plays host to Cascade Sectional champion on Oct. 14.
