Anthony Slater of ESPN reported that Kristaps Porzingis is out indefinitely to open training camp with a health issue, according to the Warriors. The update represents another setback for Golden State before the team has even started its preparations for the new season.

Porzingis was expected to add another experienced frontcourt option alongside Draymond Green and Al Horford. His absence immediately leaves the Warriors with one fewer established big man available as the team works through its camp rotations.

The Warriors are already managing Butler’s recovery. Butler remains out indefinitely as he continues his rehabilitation from the ACL injury he suffered last season.

Steph Curry faces another test with Warriors depth

The Warriors will need a healthy supporting cast around their longtime star. Curry appeared in only 43 games last season after missing 27 straight games with a right knee injury.

The Warriors are therefore entering camp with several health situations to monitor. Curry said recently that he feels strong and healthy heading into camp.
