Gonzaga Bulldogs great Kelly Olynyk is leaving the NBA to join BC Roma of Italy’s Lega Basket Serie A and the EuroCup, according to multiple reports. The club was co-founded by Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic, who also serves as a minority owner.
On his way to an NBA Finals appearance with the San Antonio Spurs this past summer, the seven-foot forward/center averaged just 3.2 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 8.6 minutes across 42 appearances off the bench. He also made the 2020 NBA Finals with the Miami Heat inside the league’s COVID-19 quarantine bubble in Orlando, Florida.
