Don’t look now, but the Atlanta Falcons are on a roll. Since welcoming back Michael Penix Jr. from injury, Atlanta has rattled off two straight wins after a dismal start to the year. Their latest win saw them completely dismantle their division rivals, the New Orleans Saints, 45-24. After a rough 2025 season, it looks like the Falcons have gotten their bearings this season.

Penix summed up the Falcons’ win over the Saints pretty succinctly. In his post-game interview, the quarterback simply said that they got the results they wanted and that their game went pretty well, all things considered.

It was a complete game from the Falcons, who completely dominated their rivals on all three levels of the game. Atlanta’s offense diced New Orleans’ defense all game long, scoring on every single drive they had. Even when they had the game completely in the bag, Penix and the offense continued racking up big plays after big plays. Penix finished the night completing 15 of his 20 passes for 223 yards and one touchdown and no interceptions.

The real stars of the night were the Falcons’ two-headed dragon in Bijan Robinson and Brian Robinson. Bijan finished the night with 145 yards and two touchdowns, while Brian did his damage in the red zone, recording three touchdowns and 62 yards.

The Falcons defense also did an excellent job swarming the Saints’ surging offense. They limited the potent New Orleans attack to just 24 yards while constantly pressuring Tyler Shough at the line of scrimmage. Shough was as efficient as ever, but their limited run game (50 yards on the day) meant that Atlanta could key in on the passing attack more.

With that win, the Falcons have improved to 2-2 on the season, just behind the Carolina Panthers with a 3-1 record. They will face their toughest challenge so far this season when they take on the Baltimore Ravens (3-1) on Monday Night Football.
