The PCB revealed the squads on October 5, naming Sahibzada Farhan as the T20I captain of Pakistan for the upcoming three-match series against Sri Lanka. Shaheen Shah Afridi would continue as the ODI captain for the tri-series involving Sri Lanka and England.

Farhan will lead the T20Is on October 9, 11 and 13. The squad for T20Is includes a few players who played in the Asian Games, such as Hasan Nawaz, Saim Ayub, and Mohammad Salman Mirza. Farhan was assisted by Abdul Samad as the vice-captain during the Asian Games.
