The attacker has revealed that he suffered epileptic seizures during his career. Some of which occurred while was in action for most of his former teams.

“It wasn’t an easy journey for me because I had challenges throughout my career,” Sifama told Soccer Laduma’s Tshepang Mailwane. “It wasn’t great, but I think one day it will be a great career. I had so many challenges.

“I was a sick boy. I had seizures, like epilepsy. It played a role in my career. It killed me, but not me being weak in my mind. I kept on pushing and fighting this thing of me getting sick.

“I used to have epileptic (episodes) even in the games, but it’s a thing that healed as I got older. It happened at Chiefs, and at Pretoria Callies. Even in the national team it happened.

The former Kaizer Chiefs attacker said it’s no longer there because it healed. Treatment helped him to be better.

REVIVING HIS CAREER

Following an unsuccessful stint with Cape Town Spurs, the 23-year-old Sifama resurfaced at Gomora United in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

The former Sekhukhune United striker believes his current opportunity at Gomora can provide the platform he needs to rebuild his career and eventually return to the top flight.

“I don’t want to blame it on me being sick. I think it was a decision they took for me to leave Kaizer Chiefs, but I did not take it badly. I am still in the professional set-up. I can go back if I work hard. I can’t blame it on me being sick,” he said.

“Faith and belief keep me going. In everything that you do, do not forget to pray. Everything will happen in the way it should if you believe.

Sifama added that personal responsibility and self-belief are central to his progress. He said his move to Gomora is a major opportunity to work hard and demonstrate his ability.
