PikeView football was surely looking forward to getting back on its horse after last week’s loss at Sissonville, but it looks like the Panthers will have to wait. And not due to any fault of their own.
It’s due to the mysterious skin rash outbreak that prompted Wyoming County Schools to close all county schools on Tuesday for “deep cleaning.” This also entailed suspending all extracurricular activities at Wyoming East and Westside high schools — which of course affected the football game at PikeView.

Hopefully, by the time this sports blurb reaches the streets, we’ll all know what all the fuss was about.
In the meantime: that game has tentatively been rescheduled to be played Oct. 30. Let’s hope the pep club banners on the Gardner campus at that time do not take undue advantage of Wyoming County’s collective discomfort.
