Taking to his Instagram account, Hernandez said that Los Angeles missed out on winning their third World Series title, still saying how much of a “ride” it’s been the past three years. Pondering if this will be the end of his career with the franchise, he expresses gratitude to the fans.

“LA; we fell short of our big goal,” Hernandez wrote, via Dodgers Nation. “But looking at the big picture, what a ride these last three years were!! If this is it for us…. Once again, I will always be thankful for you guys & I will forever love ya! #JustAKidFromPR”

Kiké Hernandez wants to return to the Dodgers

Hernandez has now played 10 seasons with the Dodgers, as his one-year deal has just now run its course with the team eliminated from the playoffs. Entering the offseason as a free agent, his top desire is to return to the team, and if not, he wants to play for a “winning team,” per Fox Sports.

“Every time I look at my career, I kind of obviously go back to this place. I’ve been here the longest. I hope I get back,” Hernandez said in the clubhouse. “I feel like I have a lot left this year. I thought it was gonna be a good year for me on the personal side.”

“I thought that once my surgery healed, I’d finally be healthy and able to play,” Hernandez continued. “And then, of course, s*** happened. But yeah, I would love to be back. I would love to have one more try, trying to win another one. I don’t really know what’s gonna happen. I hope I’m back.”

Dealing with injury this season, Hernandez has played in 41 games this season, with the 35-year-old player hoping to improve in 2027.
