'I don't think anything is off the table': How big will Vikings go at NFL trade deadline?

How big are the Vikings going to go before the Nov. 10 trade deadline?
While names like Colts stars, guard Quenton Nelson and running back Jonathan Taylor, have populated social media feeds, there hasn’t been any hard reporting to suggest Minnesota has inquired about either player, much less any other high-end players around the league who might be available.

“I don’t think anything is off the table,” Ben Goessling, who covers the Vikings for the Minnesota Star Tribune, told Paul Allen on KFAN-FM 100.3. The two had an interesting back-and-forth about how high Minnesota could be aiming.
“I wonder what it would take to get one of those high-end run-stoppers from Philly, Jordan Davis or Jalen Carter,” Allen speculated. “Are those types of names they would consider?”
“I think so,” Goessling replied. “All of this will depend on prices, obviously. I think if they felt like there’s an opportunity to get a guy like that, and they think this can make as big of a difference in the 2026 equation as anything else, yeah, I don’t think anything is off the table.”
Jalen Carter? His name, specifically, would surprise Goessling, but a player of his caliber could be realistic.
“I would think that if they felt like the prices are there, and we can get this guy and have him here and get a good return on him, I don’t think I’d rule anything out,” Goessling said.
Alec Lewis, who covers the Vikings for The Athletic, isn’t sure how interested general manager Nolan Teasley is in trading next year’s most valuable draft capital — first- and second-round picks, and two third-rounders — but he says the front office is aware that Minnesota has a good chance to make noise this season, especially as preseason favorites like the Rams and Eagles deal with costly injuries and suboptimal starts.
“I’m not trying to cover myself; you just don’t know who’s going to be available and at what price,” Lewis said on his podcast, The Alec Lewis Show. “The most likely trades at the deadline, I rattled off the positions that would be most likely in my mind, and that’s running back, guard, defensive depth, and blocking tight end. And I say blocking tight end, but it could be more of a versatile, two-way tight end.”
If the Vikings don’t make any moves, it signals that the price was too steep or that they’re comfortable with Joe Huber at left guard, T.J. Hockenson as the only veteran tight end, and Aaron Jones and Jordan Mason in the running back room.
