Pitt vs. No. 1 Miami

It’s been tough for the Panthers after losing star quarterback Mason Heintschel for the season. Pitt has tried two different quarterbacks, but neither has gotten the job done.
Corey Dailey drew the start this past weekend but threw two interceptions. If Pitt had Heintschel this weekend, it could be a good game. Miami was torched for 35 points in the win over Florida State this past weekend. The Hurricanes’ defense may not be as good as expected, but Miami can still put up the points.
In this game, we just don’t know how Pitt can score enough to keep up with Miami.
Final score: Miami 38, Pitt 17
Virginia Tech vs. Clemson
Oct 17, 2026; Blacksburg, Virginia, USA; Virginia Tech Hokies quarterback Ethan Grunkemeyer (17) throws a pass against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets during the fourth quarter at Lane Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Brian Bishop-Imagn Images Credit: IMAGN IMAGES via Reuters Connect (Reuters)After two tough-luck losses, Virginia Tech righted the ship this past weekend and beat an underwhelming Georgia Tech team. Ethan Grunkemeyer continues to churn out yards and wide receiver Que’Sean Brown has emerged into one of the best pass catchers in the ACC.
Clemson will have to slow down the Hokies’ passing attack to win this game. It’s going to be a battle of strengths on Saturday evening. Virginia Tech has a top passing offense in the ACC, while the Tigers’ M.O. has been their pass defense.
Virginia Tech has allowed some fluky things this season, but Grunkemeyer is clearly the better signal-caller in this game. The Hokies get a big road win.
Final score: Virginia Tech 27, Clemson 24
The rest of the games will be quick-hitter style:
- Virginia 24, Duke 21
- NC State 31, Stanford 21
- No. 23 SMU 41, Cal 17
- Georgia Tech 34, Boston College 24
- North Carolina 27, Syracuse 21
