New England Patriots fans have voiced their frustration after Drake Maye and the Patriots suffered a 30-24 defeat to the Chicago Bears, bringing their three-game winning streak to an end.

Caleb Williams threw for 308 yards and two touchdowns to lead Chicago to victory, while Maye finished with 321 passing yards and two touchdowns. However, a costly first-half interception and defensive mistakes proved expensive for New England.

Frustration was clear among Patriots supporters after the narrow defeat, with one fan summing up the mood by writing: “Should have won this game. Very disappointing outcome.”

Another supporter was far less forgiving towards the team’s defence and offensive line, posting: “Make every d—- player on defence and the O-line run laps for the next week and a half. Absolute losers.”

One particularly angry fan shared an extreme reaction to the result, writing: “Just smashed my TV in front of 30 guests at my party because of the game. My wife just took our crying kids and said they’re all spending the week at a hotel. This team has ruined my life and my party. I can’t handle this anymore. Goodbye Patriots. I am no longer a fan.”

Meanwhile, Williams’ performance prompted comparisons between the two quarterbacks, with one supporter declaring: “Caleb Williams better than Drake Maye confirmed!”

Another fan was already calling for New England to move on from its young quarterback, writing: “Please trade Maye before it’s too late and we’re stuck with him for another contract.”

Maye’s performance also attracted criticism from a supporter who wrote: “Drake Maye has no clutch gene. Caleb is the ice man!”

However, not everyone was ready to panic after the loss. One Patriots fan offered a more measured view, posting: “We lost to a good team. No need to overreact. We could possibly see them again.”

The Patriots had opportunities to take control of the game but struggled to contain Chicago’s offence, with Luther Burden recording 130 receiving yards.

New England will now look to respond against the Miami Dolphins after seeing its winning run come to an end. Despite the disappointment, Maye’s 321 passing yards and two touchdown passes offered positives for a team that remained in contention until the closing stages.
