A few months back, Jordan Hall was committed to Miami (Ohio), but a strong start to his senior season had a number of Power 4 programs offer him: Penn State, Ohio State, Missouri, and Louisville. While Missouri hung around in his final three, this was always a two-horse race between the Nittany Lions and in-state Buckeyes. He took visits to Happy Valley and Columbus, but in the end, Penn State won out and got a rare recruiting victory over the Buckeyes for an Ohio kid.

The three-star rating will be met with some snide remarks, I imagine, but Hall seems like a true senior riser. And while I don’t think this was necessarily a heated (see: NIL a major factor) recruiting battle between Penn State and Ohio State, the Buckeyes currently don’t have a running back in their class. In an era of recruiting where “offers” don’t always mean “committable”, this was legitimately one Ryan Day wanted. Hall definitively chose Penn State over Ohio State, which is a welcomed sign after the last few weeks.
Hall becomes the second running back in the class, joining three-star Paramus Catholic back Chukwuma “Chu Chu” Odoh. While Odoh brings size (6’0, 215) and power to the position, Hall is the shifty jitterbug speed back. He ran a 10.72 100M time back in May and his highlights show off his ability to make defenders miss.
