Arteta’s Secret Dossier: Arsenal Boss Collecting Evidence on Rival Managers
· Yahoo Sports
Mikel Arteta has revealed that he is collecting evidence of rival Premier League managers leaving their technical areas without being punished, following his latest yellow card during Arsenal’s comfortable 2-0 victory over Everton.
The Arsenal boss was booked by referee Tony Harrington during Saturday’s encounter at the Emirates, despite there being little controversy surrounding the result itself.

And it seems Arteta has been doing a little homework on his fellow managers!
Arteta Has Been Keeping the Receipts
Speaking after the match, Arteta explained that he believes other managers are getting away with the very same behaviour that has earned him two bookings this season.
As reported by Sky Sports, the Spaniard even joked about installing sensors to keep himself inside the permitted area.
“I do have to be careful, yeah,” Arteta admitted. “I’m going to put sensors there!”
He then claimed that some managers had stepped outside their technical areas as many as 36 times in just ten minutes without receiving a yellow card.
“So I am clipping all of that so I have a massive storage of images,” he explained.
It certainly sounds as though Arteta has been keeping the receipts, although he stopped short of naming the managers involved.

Could Arsenal Lose Arteta From the Touchline?
Saturday’s booking was Arteta’s second of the Premier League campaign, meaning another caution would result in a one-match touchline suspension.
And with Arsenal facing a challenging run of Premier League fixtures, including Liverpool away next weekend, losing their manager from the touchline would hardly be ideal.
Of course, Arteta’s animated behaviour is nothing new. He has previously found himself in trouble for his reactions during matches, including a booking against Brighton in December 2023, when he explained that he had simply been waving towards Gabriel Martinelli.
There is an argument that managers should respect the boundaries of their technical areas, but surely those rules should be applied consistently?
After all, passion on the touchline is hardly exclusive to Arteta.
Perhaps the officials should be more concerned about what happens on the pitch than counting how many times a manager steps over a white line!
