Sunderland stay bottom after home draw with Leeds
· Yahoo Sports
Sunderland’s domestic struggles continued as they were held to a goalless draw by Leeds at the Stadium of Light.
Whilst the Black Cats were more spirited in their performance, and ended a run of four straight Premier League defeats, they still lacked conviction in the final third.

There was hope ahead of kick off that the returning Brian Brobbey would add potency to the Sunderland attack, but even he could not provide the difference for his side.
Brobbey did come closer than anyone in the opening 45 to breaking the deadlock, but twice he was denied by James Trafford in the Leeds goal.
For the most part though, the first half offered precious little for either side. Neither could find a meaningful rhythm, with the conditions playing their part in proceedings.
Leeds had a short spell of pressure early in the second period, but it was Sunderland who began to test Trafford more often as the half wore on. He was at full stretch on several occasions in the space of a hectic ten-minute period as the home side pushed for the opener.
There were cries from the stands for Chemsdine Talbi to be brought on from the bench, but even his eventual introduction could not muster up a goal for Sunderland.
Leeds were perhaps disappointing by their own high standards this season, but will likely see this result as a point gained rather than two dropped.
Certainly, they will not be as dissatisfied as Sunderland, who despite their efforts, remain rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table.
