Yadav, who was 7 years old when he was diagnosed with post-polio residual paralysis, had been serving a doping suspension earlier this month that forced him to sit out of the 2026 Asian Para Games in Aichi-Nagoya, per the outlet.
Following the National Anti-Doping Agency’s report that Yadav tested positive for a banned substance, two of his gold medals won at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Para Games were revoked, and he did not receive the government’s cash reward, according to the outlet.
Satyanarayana told The Hindu, “I can’t speculate the exact reason but if you ask me, I would say a sportsperson should face the highs and lows with equanimity. It’s unfortunate that he chose this far and took the extreme step.”
Yadav won gold and set a record in the men’s F55 javelin at the 2018 Asian Para Games in Jakarta.
