Two of the leading tacticians in Spanish football have this week seen their respective recent efforts on the touchline aptly recognised.
This comes amid confirmation of both José Mourinho and Diego Simeone being included on the shortlist for La Liga’s Manager of the Month for October.
Both Real Madrid and Atlético have taken to the pitch on a trio of occasions in Spain’s top-flight thus far this month.
In the case of the former, they positioned themselves firmly back in the title race, courtesy of wins over all of Villarreal, Sevilla and, most significantly, Barcelona.
Atlético, meanwhile, also racked up a perfect nine points from nine, at the expense of Alavés, Espanyol and Deportivo La Coruña. The Rojiblancos now sit just two points off the La Liga summit.
And as alluded to above, such excellence has this week been deservedly recognised. As confirmed across La Liga’s social media platforms, José Mourinho and Diego Simeone have been nominated for Manager of the Month, alongside Real Sociedad boss Pellegrino Matarazzo.
