DETROIT — The Detroit Lions are set to debut a new look in their game against the Minnesota Vikings at Ford Field on Sunday, Nov. 1.
The Lions will wear their new "Rivalries" uniforms in the pivotal NFC North showdown, with Detroit sporting slate-colored jerseys and pants and their blue alternate helmet, which features a carbon-fiber texture on the black logo and stripe.

Jersey numbers are italicized to "create the illusion of motion," the team's website said when announcing the new look on Aug. 25. The jerseys and pants have black and Honolulu blue accents and have stripes on the shoulder.
The Lions were one of eight teams to receive a "Rivalries" alternate uniform. The "Rivalries" program began last season and gives eight teams across two divisions an alternate look. This season, the NFC North and AFC South are featured. Last season, the NFC West and AFC East wore the alternates.
Sunday's game against the Vikings is the only game Detroit currently plans to wear the "Rivalries" alternates this season. The Vikings are scheduled to wear their "Rivalries" uniform in their second meeting with Detroit at U.S. Bank Stadium on Dec. 20.
