Jared Verse on comments before Week 8 loss: 'I stand by everything'

You should never give your opponent ammo to use against you before meeting on a football field. In the leadup to Week 8, Browns defensive end Jared Verse did not follow those unwritten rules.
While speaking to the media on Thursday, Oct. 29, Verse made some fiery comments about the Steelers and their players ahead of Week 8. He stated, “I’m not worried about Cam (Heyward), I’m not worried about their offensive line, I’m not worried about anyone on their team."

Verse followed those words up by accumulating just one assisted tackle on Sunday against the Steelers. After the game, the star defender was asked if he regretted his words before the game, and he didn't show any change of heart on the matter.
He stated, "I stand by everything I say, and as a man, you have to naturally do that. I think we could have definitely been more than what we just presented ourselves as....I don't know who the hell that team was that walked out there."
Verse and the Browns will turn their attention to the New Orleans Saints. For Verse especially, he has to be hoping that the production picks up because if it doesn't and the talk keeps happening, well then something is going to have to give.
