SAN DIEGO (AP) — Kayde Dotson’s 21 points helped UCSD make a winning debut Monday, defeating Whittier 100-75.
Dotson shot 7 for 12 from the field, including 4 for 9 from 3-point range, and 3 for 5 from the free-throw line for the Tritons. Rahmir Barno added 19 points while going 7 for 13 from the field and 5 for 5 from the free-throw line, and grabbed six rebounds. Treysen Eaglestaff went 6 for 9 from the field, including 2 for 3 from 3-point range, to finish with 16 points and six rebounds.

Peyton Guerrero led the Poets with 18 points. Whittier also got 13 points from Jonathan Duley. Tochi Onyeador finished with 12 points, eight rebounds and three blocks.
