Key Storylines on the Card
The co-main is loaded with narrative.
Brian Mendoza knocked out Fundora in 2023 for the WBC interim title -- Fundora's only professional loss. Mendoza went 1-2 since then (losses to Tim Tszyu and Serhii Bohachuk) and now faces Yoenis Tellez, who is rebounding from his first career loss to Abass Baraou.
Both men need a win. The Tellez-Mendoza bout replaced the Frank Sanchez vs. Richard Torrez Jr. IBF heavyweight eliminator after Sanchez aggravated a knee injury.
