The MPSSAA playoffs for sports like baseball, softball and lacrosse are heating up. And in the coming days, regional champions will be crowned and spots in the state quarterfinals will be clinched.

For Bayside South teams still alive, there will be chances to continue what they hope will be long playoff runs towards a state title. And plenty of these Bayside South teams will have to face off against local rivals if they want to advance.

Here is what you need to know for the remaining Bayside South baseball, softball and lacrosse teams in the MPSSAA playoffs this week.

Boys Lacrosse

In the regionals semifinals for boys lacrosse, Parkside and Stephen Decatur both cruised to victory in the MPSSAA's Class 2A East II region.

Parkside won 15-4 over Easton, while Decatur defeated North Caroline 20-5. Now, the two best Bayside South lacrosse teams will face off against each other on Monday with the regional title on the line. The game will be held at Parkside at 4 p.m.

Girls Lacrosse

In girls lacrosse, Stephen Decatur was the lone Bayside South team to advance to the regional final, as they defeated rivals Parkside 23-6 on Thursday.

Decatur is set to host the 2A East II regional final on Monday at 4 30 p.m., where they will face Easton.

Baseball

May 12 is regional championship day for baseball teams across the MPSSAA, and there will be three Bayside South teams competing to advance to the state quarterfinals on Tuesday.

In Class 3A East II, Stephen Decatur defeated rivals James M. Bennett 4-2 on Saturday, advancing to the regional championship game. Decatur, still undefeated this season will be back at home on Tuesday at 4 p.m., where they will host Arundel in the regional title game.

In Class 1A East II, Mardela and Snow Hill each grabbed easy victories over the weekend in the regional semifinals. Mardela beat Cambridge-South Dorchester 12-0, while Snow Hill defeated Crisfield 12-2. Mardela will now host Snow Hill on Tuesday at 4 p.m. with a spot in the state quarterfinal on the line.

Softball

The regional semifinals for Maryland high school softball will take place on Monday, and three of the Bayside's best will be competing for a chance at playing for a regional title.

In Class 1A, Snow Hill beat Cambridge-South Dorchester 9-3 in the first round of the playoffs on Thursday, advancing to the regional semifinals. Next up for Snow Hill is a trip to face reigning state champions and recent crowned Bayside Champions Mardela, who will host them at 4 p.m. on Monday.

In Class 3A, Stephen Decatur will host Severna Park in the East II semifinals at 5 p.m. on Monday.
