The Iowa football program is close to landing a huge commitment for its 2027 class.

The Hawkeyes currently have 12 commits in their 2027 recruiting class, which ranks 39th nationally according to 247Sports. They're still waiting for their first wide receiver commit for the class. That could be coming sooner than expected.

On Monday, Iowa found out it made the final four schools for 2027 four-star wide receiver Lawrence Britt. The Hawkeyes join Texas Tech, Arkansas, and Missouri in Britt's final four. He'll announce his commitment live on CBS Sports' College Football YouTube channel on Thursday.

Britt is from Memphis, Tennessee, and Lausanne Collegiate School. He's the 233rd-best prospect in the 2027 class, according to 247Sports. The 6-foot-1, 178-pound receiver visited Iowa City last week. That visit was sandwiched between visits to Arkansas and Missouri. He's not set to visit Texas Tech until after his commitment date.

As a junior in 2025, Britt caught 44 passes for 696 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also rushed for 299 yards and five scores on 5.8 yards per carry. Britt is a highly sought-after prospect, garnering offers from blue-blood programs like Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, and Miami, among others. Iowa making the top four schools for him is a big indictment of where the program is at with Tim Lester running the offense.

Kirk Ferentz and the coaching staff will wait with bated breath on Thursday as they look to add an elite prospect to an already strong 2027 class.
