Jayden Adams appears forlorn during Bafana celebrations [watch]

Jayden Adams appeared sad and alone in a video that has recently resurfaced following his shock death on Saturday, 11 July. In the clip, the Bafana Bafana players were surrounded by teammates celebrating their win over South Korea in the FIFA World Cup group stages.

The victory secured their historical advancement into the Round of 32.

Police are investigating an inquest into the circumstances of his death, which is believed to be a suicide. Adams was remembered in a minute of silence, which took place before England and Norway’s semi-final match later that day.

In the wake of Jayden Smith’s death, a clip of him amongst his Bafana teammates has resurfaced.

In the clip, the South African players celebrate their much-needed win over South Korea in their changeroom, on 25 June. The victory secured their place in the FIFA World Cup Round of 32, a first for South Africa.

Players sang and danced in joy, while others filmed the happy occasion. However, Adams was seen seated and appearing sombre.

The celebration took place a few days after Adams’s grandmother Marianna died in South Africa. It also occurred just two days before she was laid to rest, which Adams missed due to him performing his international duties.

In a post-match interview, Jayden paid tribute to his grandmother, stating, “My legs were playing, but my heart was in heaven with her.

“She’s the reason I’m here… Wearing the green and gold meant everything to her.”

Meanwhile, Jayden Adams last TikTok post was dedicated to Bafana Bafana’s performance in the FIFA World Cup.

In it, the 25-year-old sent a message to critics of the national team who had predicted Bafana would not advance past the group stages.

Adams posted an image of the squad with audio that warned naysayers not to stay silent.
