It's almost strange to think about LeBron James playing for the Golden State Warriors, and much of that is due to the battles we saw him have with them in the past.

Playing with the Cleveland Cavaliers at the time, James beat one of the greatest teams of all time, and it never seemed like he would ever put on a Golden State jersey.

However, now that he's a free agent at this stage of his career and with many questions about what he actually wants to do, one executive recently said he believes James wants to play for the Warriors but is uncertain whether they actually have a chance to win.

“I think in his heart, he wants to play for the Warriors but as a competitor, he wants to compete for a championship and it’s hard to see how the Venn diagram of those two things lines up,” one exec said, per Sean Deveney of Heavy.

The one problem with the Warriors right now, at least in landing marquee free agents, is the fact that they're very old and most don't think they have a chance to win. I believe that if everything goes perfectly for Golden State, it has an opportunity to do so, but I also recognize it's probably unlikely.

Adding James would be a step in the right direction, though I'm unsure whether that would really change much for the organization at the moment, in terms of its status as a contender.
