Taysom Hill landing spots: Where will 'Swiss Army Knife' go after leaving Saints?
· Yahoo Sports
A New Orleans Saints fan favorite is heading elsewhere. Taysom Hill, the do-it-all athlete who played everything from quarterback to special teams, announced Wednesday night he's leaving the Saints after nine seasons.
Hill developed into one of the NFL's most exciting and unique players under longtime Saints coach Sean Payton, making starts at quarterback, tight end and fullback while also playing snaps at wide receiver and running back. He finishes his Saints career 7-2 as a starting QB, and over 118 games he recorded 2,426 and 12 touchdowns passing plus 3,585 yards and 45 touchdowns rushing and receiving.

Kellen Moore took over the Saints in 2025 and Hill's role diminished significantly, so this move doesn't come at a complete shock.
In a statement shared on social media, Hill thanked New Orleans for its support and said he's "still working through what comes next" in regard to his career.
"I had always heard, 'If you love New Orleans, New Orleans will love you back,'" Hill's statement read. "That could not have been more true. You exceeded every expectation I had of what it would be like to live and play in a city. The passion, loyalty, and support you showed my family and me over these nine seasons were truly one of a kind."
Here are four NFL landing spots for Hill as his Saints era comes to an end.
Denver Broncos
It's an opportunity for Hill to reunite with Payton, his biggest supporter. Bo Nix is a dynamic runner but will likely be more cautious after an ankle injury cut last season short, so Hill could be a valuable piece for Denver to use in goal-line packages.
Detroit Lions
Hill could serve as a replacement for David Montgomery in short-yardage and goal-line situations, giving Jahmyr Gibbs a breather over what should be a busy campaign for him. Since Jared Goff isn't mobile, Hill also gives Detroit a fascinating wildcat quarterback option.
Chicago Bears
Ben Johnson is arguably the NFL's most creative mind, so pairing him with the league's most versatile player just feels right. The Bears have a solid ground game and Hill could only elevate it.
Kansas City Chiefs
Like Nix, Patrick Mahomes is coming off a season-ending injury and will be focused on staying healthy for the playoffs. Kenneth Walker will carry the load in most situations, but he wasn't a primary red zone option for the Seattle Seahawks. Hill could fill that void.
