Buffalo Bills training camp has entered its second week, but there’s still plenty of time to chat about what unfolded during the first week at St. John Fisher University. This week, we have one simple question for you:
How are you feeling about the Bills after the first week of training camp? Are you super excited, cautiously optimistic, cautiously pessimistic, or have you not seen (or heard/read) enough yet? Buffalo’s first week of camp this summer at Fisher was filled with plenty of highlights, and a lot of news.
Among those high points are wide receiver Keon Coleman stealing headlines on the first day, the connection and bond being built between quarterback Josh Allen and wide receiver DJ Moore, left tackle Dion Dawkins and safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson’s budding friendship, and the continued development of rookie linebacker Kaleb Elarms-Orr, Michael Hoecht’s return progress from an Achilles tear, and the new vibe at camp under head coach Joe Brady and defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard.
Of course, camp isn’t without it’s concerning news, where perhaps the biggest story outside of the rain-soaked weather came by way of the injury to Gardner-Johnson. Further testing of course revealed that CJGJ suffered only a lower calf strain, not an Achilles injury as so many first feared. Still, that’s put the safeties group into a bit of flux as Leonhard and company try to divy up snaps between others on the depth chart.
